In mid-2010 I had the opportunity to come to work with Web Courses Bangkok as the online marketing instructor for an 8 month period. I had the opportunity while I was there to undertake the full range of courses that WCB has to offer and for that I am eternally grateful. Why?

Well I was able to not only build my understanding of Web design, HTML and CSS I was able to pick the brain of an exceptionally talented teaching staff.Benjamin S Powell

I was also introduced to the brilliance that is WordPress, and now with the extra skills that WCB has taught me I can add web design to the business offerings of my boutique agency.

In the last 3 months I have been able to not only offer design services to my clients, but I have successfully produced 5 websites and have a lot more being booked up!

www.corsetqueen.com.auThis is something that I had never thought that I would be able to do as my level of understanding of web design was pretty minimal to say the least. Now though I can competently offer design services based solely on the education and experience that I gained at WCB.

If anyone was looking for a career change, or to develop a skill that allows them to not only be their own boss but work your own hours and from anywhere in the world web design is the way to go, and if you have the chance to learn at (in my opinion a world class school) Web Courses Bangkok, you would never look back.

Having the ability to call on the teachers at WCB, even after I have left the school has been a fantastic help as well and one that I doubt that you would find at any other educational facilty, the occasional question of ‘Is it possible to..’ or ‘how can I do..’ has been the biggest benefit and one resource that I am truly glad to have access to.

I would not hesitate to recommend WCB for its exceptionally high standard of education, its teachers and its ongoing support.

Joomla 1.6 Review

Joomla 1.6 Review

Joomla has been one of my favourite CMS’s for a while but I left it behind when WordPress answered the last questions I had with version 3. Secretly however, I have been waiting for J1.6 to come out in the hope that it also answered some of the questions I had about the last versions. Read More…

Adam G - Marathon Runner

Adam G – Marathon Runner

About seven years ago, I started to build a website. It would be about running, as I’m a marathon runner. I had some experience of programming but was new to web design. By 2005, I’d built a basic website with some PHP scripts which worked fine, but the design was weak. I was nowhere near my goal of an awesome website …

So I started reading about CSS, XML, Javascript, Ajax, etc. Fascinating, but confusing. I looked around for a web course but couldn’t find anything that was in English and reasonably-priced. Then I hit the wall and almost gave up. Until a few months ago I found the WCB site by accident. I went to their Open Day and signed up for the Intermediate Web Design course.

I really enjoyed this course, because Carl demystifies all the jargon and tells you exactly what you need to know to make a professional website.Adam G – Marathon Runner

And he has a real passion for web design, which makes even mundane stuff like cascading rules seem interesting. It was like someone giving me a tour of a place that I thought I already knew but I was seeing it from a totally new angle.  I also learned about best practices and web standards which I hadn’t paid much attention to before. Then I started the WordPress training, which is really useful too, and hope to attend further classes.

Thanks to Carl, I’ve broken through the wall and I’m running again.

I hope you will all visit my new site www.asiamarathons.com – (which is a work in progress)
