WCB was founded by Carl Heaton in 2008. Carl is an experienced Web Designer / Developer based in Bangkok.
With many people in Bangkok wish to setup online businesses manage their company web site or even attain new skills and more and more people were approaching Carl about doing private classes on Web Site Design. To meet the demand Carl began creating a course outline and teaching small classes. “With each class I developed the course content more and more and gradually built up a product that I felt would work well as an actual professional course”.
In creating the Web Site Design course, Carl saw that there was a need for more courses to follow on and complete a students learning on how to be successful online.
More recently, we have currently taken on board one of the developers for Joomla who is interested in working with WCB to create a series of CMS training events around South East Asia.
Time Line
2008 - The WCB idea is born and the domain name registered.
May 2009 - Launch of Web Site.
26th May 2009 - First online inquiry and trainee.
28th May 2009 - First paid avertising on Thai Visa Classified (Click here to see link).
6th June 2009 - The first course run at our first offices at 253 Asoke Building in Bangkok.
11th June 2009 - We are on Google Maps, so now the world knows we are here.
13th June 2009 - Place our first Facebook Ad whist finishing preparation for the first Week 2 presentation.
16th June 2009 - First evening class with two keen students from Scotland and France.
27th June 2009 - Start writing two new courses: Intermediate Web Site design and Internet Marketing
01st Jul 2009 - Do our first series of User Testing with Feedback Army and register six new domains for future web courses venues.
02nd August 2009 - Our biggest class yet of 5 people. We like to keep our classes small so we can spend more time with each student.
10th August 2009 - Carl our main Web Site Design instructor was invited to lecture about Web Standards and Search Engine Optimistaion at one of Thailand's top Universities Chulalongkorn University.
01th September 2009 - We are working with an exciting project called Restaurants of Bangkok or ROB, the planning stage is coming to a close and soon the design agency Area Digital will begin development. For more information and to register early check out www.RestaurantsOfBangkok.com.
23rd September 2009 - WCB receives a mention by one of the leading Web Design companies in Bangkok http://bangkokwebdesignbasics.com ( in our honest opinion). With an English owner and mix Thai/European development team, Back To Basics Design is continuing to produce excellent and beautiful web sites such as http://www.buddhaview-diving.com/ and http://kohlipe.castaway-resorts.com/
05th November - Sean Elliot from Australia joined our team as the first instructor. He has already received great feedback from our trainees and he continues to do a great job of teaching our beginner course.
